IMC390: Internships in New Ventures provides students who have completed IMC200: Innovation and Entrepreneurship with experiential learning opportunities by immersing them in an entrepreneurship environment through internships at local start-up companies. Students meet regularly during the term to reflect on, discuss, and present findings from their internship experiences, and to connect their experiential learning with course concepts addressed in IMC200.
Connect / Reflect / Project
- Apply your academic skills and understanding of innovation and entrepreneurial environments to a professional context.
- Build professional experience in a start-up environment.
- Explore potential professional pathways and build professional connections.
- Discuss your experiences in a context that brings together students from different disciplines and working on diverse projects, and learn to communicate effectively to this diverse audience.
Students who have completed the prerequisite course IMC200 can apply to the internship projects that are listed for each term. Normally an interview is conducted to ensure a good match between the student and the position. Enrolment in IMC390 will follow when such a match is found.
